Landscape Construction Foreperson

Position: Landscape Construction Foreperson

About us:

Our company is known for very detailed, high quality work and great customer service.

We work on the West Side of Vancouver primarily at residential properties.

What we are looking for:

You love landscape construction, gardening and working outdoors.

You are strong, fit and able to lift heavy objects.

You are great with customers and team members.

You have an accident-free driving record for over 10 years.

Experience driving a 5 or 10-ton dump truck is an asset.

Priority Work List:

Concrete paver pathway and patio installations

Stone wall, pathway and patio installations

Landscape carpentry: fences, decks and shed construction

General gardening work: plant installations, sod and lawn installs, soil and bark mulch installation

Compensation:

Wage range is $28-35/hr, based on experience.

Health benefits after 90 days.

 

Work season is February 1 to November 31 (possibly more based on weather).

Landscape Supervisor

Looking for an Applicant with:

  • Experience in landscape maintenance and plant/lawn installations
  • Proper use of hand tools and power equipment
  • Pruning and plant ID knowledge
  • Strong work ethic
  • Positive attitude
  • Problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills

Applicant must:

  • Be clean cut
  • Be physically fit
  • Able to lift and carry heavy bins
  • Work in all weather conditions
  • Have an eye for detail
  • Take pride in all work
  • Be punctual
  • Have a valid driver’s license with vehicle, accident-free record

Primary Work List includes:

  • Driving 5-ton truck
  • Directing 1 to 3 other employees
  • Managing 1 to 2 crews
  • Delivering landscape materials
  • Garden clean ups
  • Weeding, pruning, mowing, line trimming, hedge trimming, planting
  • Bark mulch and soil installation

Compensation:

  • Starting rate is $25/hr for a probationary 2-week period. Range of pay rates depending on experience and ability: $25-$35/hour
  • Full-time position. Seasonal contract February to December.
  • Health benefits after 90 days.

Gardener Level 3

General Gardening and Power Equipment Operation
What we are looking for:

  • You love gardening and working outdoors.
  • You are strong, fit and able to lift heavy bins.
  • You are great with customers and team members.
  • You work well as part of a team and independently.
  • You communicate well and can handle both positive and constructive feedback.
  • You have an accident-free driving record for over 10 years.
  • You are confident driving a work truck to job sites and parallel parking.
  • Experience driving a 5-ton dumping truck is a real asset.

Primary work list includes:

  • Trimming and shaping of hedges and shrubs – using power tools and hand tools
  • Mowing, edging lawns, line trimming lawns – using power equipment
  • Raking up and removal of hedge trimming cuttings
  • Bark mulch installation, placement by wheelbarrow and grading of material on garden beds
  • Weeding garden beds and lawns
  • Raking of garden beds and lawns
  • Removal of debris from job site, lifting and carrying bins

Work gear:

  • We will provide you with uniform shirts, pants, work gloves, rain gear and personal protective equipment.
  • You must have your own steel toe boots and eye protection (sunglasses).

Compensation:

  • Starting rate is $18/hr for a probationary 2-week period. Range of pay rates depending on experience and ability: $18-26/hour
  • Full-time position.
  • Health benefits after 90 days.

Employees get to choose 2 flex days off each month.

Gardener Level 2

General Gardening and Detailed Gardening

Priority work list: 

  • Weeding garden beds and lawns
  • Raking garden beds and lawns
  • Pruning small trees and shrubs
  • Hand shaping of small hedges and shrubs
  • Deadheading perennials and flowering shrubs
  • Lawn edging using power equipment
  • Line trimming using power equipment
  • Mowing
  • Taking note of any pest or disease issues

General work list: 

  • Bark mulch installation, placement by wheelbarrow and grading of material on garden beds
  • Planting of perennials, hedges, shrubs, annuals and bulbs
  • Removal of lawn edging cuttings
  • Spraying plants for pest control
  • General tidy up of garden areas
  • Weeding of cracks in pavement, gaps between pavers and areas mulched with rocks
  • Blowing debris off stairs, sidewalks, pathways and driveways
  • Removal of debris from street curb gutters
  • Removal of debris from job site, lifting and carrying bins
  • Leaf raking and pick up
  • Watering
  • Cleaning fountains/water features
  • Tool care
  • Organizing tools in truck
  • Truck maintenance

Work gear:

  • We will provide you with uniform shirts, pants, work gloves, rain gear and personal protective equipment.

General Labour and Lawn Mowing

  • Digging and removal of existing landscape elements
  • Gravel, sand, soil installation
  • Wheelbarrowing and grading of material
  • Lifting and carrying supplies, lumber, bins
  • Installing wood posts, fence panels, concrete pavers, stone stairs
  • Mixing concrete and mortar
  • Driving within Metro Vancouver to pick up supplies and go to waste stations

Work gear:
